Scarabaeus sacer is a beetle, which often could be seen crawling with a grain between its antennae. The ancient Egyptians likened the grain rotation to Sun's movement. This was enough they to start worshipping the beetle and engraving it on stones. Scarabs (talismans made by that people in the shape of the species) had been worn as efficient amulets and symbols of the perpetual return. The same interpretation was spread in China also - the scarabaeus rolled its grain, from which the life was to be born as a result of scarabaeus endeavors and concentration.
